Natan Zehavi was sitting beside Ovadia's threshold. There I realized what an illusory reality we live in - voila! culture

Veteran journalist Natan Zahavi joined the "Central Headquarters" as a guest presenter and what stood out the most was the fatigue that affected him and the entire program

It seems that Nathan Zahavi got tired.

One of Israel's oldest prophets of rage, who for more than twenty-five years has been dealing with the injustices and ills of Israeli society, among other things in his mythological radio program "Zahavi Esbani", arrived at the most charged period in the country's history when he was already exhausted from arguments and conflicts.

Yesterday (Saturday) he joined the "Central Headquarters" as a guest presenter alongside Sefi Ovadia on Network 13 hoping to inject some fighting spirit into the political program that regularly loses to "Meet the Press" (Kheshet 12) by Ben Caspit and Amit Segal, but those who hoped to receive provocative statements from him or yelling at politicians, mostly found a person turned off and frustrated.

This is of course my interpretation, it is possible that Zehavi is in a state of resignation or maybe it is his doctors who advised him not to raise his voice, but as someone who has been following him for several decades, the new version of Zehavi seemed like another evidence of the delusional reality in which we live.

It's a dirty trick, but the format of two pitchers grappling with each other seems to be the standard these days.

Whether in "Meet" in which Ben Caspit and Amit Segal disagree on nothing but do so gracefully, or in Caspit's daily radio show Vinon Magal, which leads to much higher-pitched confrontations and frequent departures from the studio.

This seems to be where the "central headquarters" wanted to go but instead it ended up with a strange mix that included too many journalists, commentators and advisers who enjoy hearing themselves talk while in practice they repeat the same well-known clichés.

In fact, "Central Headquarters" yesterday felt like a show about football trying to inject interest while the league is on hiatus.

The panels were made up of immediate suspects like Lior Horev and Ari Shavit, people who really like to hear themselves talk, who competed to see who sounded smarter while giving 'golden' advice to Binyamin Netanyahu and Benny Gantz.

turned off.

There was no lack of enthusiasm in the way they conveyed their messages, nevertheless, these are people who make a living by selling themselves (for very handsome sums), but the more you listen to them, the more you remember the well-known American saying (albeit rude): "Opinions are like an ass hole, for everyone There is one."

Even the politicians who came to the program failed to add interest to the sleepy broadcaster.

The representative of Yesh Atid, Boaz Toporovsky reminded us again why the biggest social protest that arose here started from the people and not from the elected officials and seemed not connected to the event.

Another interview with former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who attacks Netanyahu on a vending machine, did nothing new for the viewers.

At least they did well in the "headquarters" to bring two representatives of the Arab parties to the program (Mansour Abbas and Ahmed Tibi), considering the unimaginable amount of murders in Arab society that requires that the news programs cover the issue in a more significant way.

Zahavi himself did not provide any added value and even politely voted when he wanted to speak.

Blackmail on the culture of speech, but that's not what we gathered for.

Bismuth came back and berated Ovadia from the beginning to the end of the interview and claimed that he was against the current government while he supported the previous government.

The interviewer didn't stop to correct him.

In general, when a politician (in this case Bismuth) repeats every second sentence the combination of the words: "Believe me", I have a tendency to think he is lying.

in the small

The coronation ceremony of King Charles III was broadcast yesterday on the main channels at the same time as it was broadcast around the world.

It is impossible to argue that this is a historical event, but it is worth having a discussion about how relevant it is to our lives in 2023 and wondering whether it justifies almost seven consecutive hours of broadcasting that include reports on every utterance of the little prince Louis.

It's hard to say which channel did a better job in the broadcasts (I jumped between Moav Verdi in Khan 11 and Arad Nir in Bekesh 12) but all of them included panels made up of avowed Anglophiles, foreign correspondents and friends of the royal household on their own behalf such as the graceful Miri Krymolovsky who came to the studio wearing a festive straw hat befitting the status.

The whole event was clouded by Moab Verdi's unfortunate statement in Kan 11 that he used the word autistic as an insult to the new king, but he also apologized for it later in the broadcast.
