The thirty-year-old had been surprised, in the middle of the night, by the victim while he was taking a bath. He was quickly arrested by the forces.

He may have been a little too confident and relaxed. A man, aged 30, was sentenced on Monday to ten months in prison including four months after being arrested at the end of an attempted burglary in a house in Cahors on the night of Saturday to Sunday.

According to our colleagues in Le Figaro, who quote the public prosecutor, Alexandre Rossi, he was "very unfavorably" known to the judicial services and had just come out of detention on May 2.

It all starts when, in the middle of the night, a resident of the prefecture city returns home and discovers a man taking a bath. The thug, who had also cooked himself a pasta dish after breaking into a bay window, manages to flee. He didn't have time to dry himself.

Police arrest a soaked man

It is also thanks to this rather particular clue that the police, warned by the victim, will spot the thirty-year-old with suspicious behavior a few minutes later. Not far from the house in question, the police officers noticed a man who matched the report and whose clothes did not hide the fact that he was soaked.

Arrested, the burglar will quickly recognize the facts. In custody, he confessed to investigators that he had also stolen several personal items from the owner. He justifies his cooking session by a little hunger.

Referred on Monday, he was tried as part of a "plea-guilty" procedure and was incarcerated, in the aftermath, in the prison of Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne) to serve his sentence of four months.
