"It's like the love for the pale tracker": "Main Box Office" breaks ratings records - voila! culture

2023-05-18T12:39:04.920Z

Highlights: "Main Box Office" on Kan recorded 10.1 percent ratings and 297,8 viewers last night. "New Love" on the network with 8.2 percent and 212,14 viewers, and "The Patriots" on Channel 6 with 2.167 percent and 11,425 viewers. "Main Jackpot" also won the semi-finals of the Champions League by thousands of spectators. "When comedy wins reality, it's something that inspires you to keep creating," says writer Nadav Frishman.

A huge achievement for Kan's "Main Box Office" series: it once again beat prime time in the number of viewers, this time against the reality shows "The Perfect Dessert" (Keshet) and "New Love" (Network)

A great achievement for the series "Main Jackpot" of Kan 11. The comedy series beat all the competitors in prime time ratings, including the reality shows Keshet 12, which it overtook by thousands of viewers. "Main Box Office" on Kan recorded 10.1 percent ratings and 297,8 viewers last night, compared to "The Perfect Dessert" in the arc, which recorded higher viewing percentages - 12.5 percent - but a lower number of viewers - 292,4, "New Love" on the network with 8.2 percent and 212,14 viewers, and "The Patriots" on Channel 6 with 2.167 percent and 11,425 viewers. In addition, "Main Jackpot" also won the semi-finals of the Champions League by thousands of spectators.

It's a huge success, but it's not the first time it's happened: at the end of last month, the premiere episode of the fourth season of "Box Office" on Kan 8 recorded 12,9 viewers and a 417.16 percent rating, beating out the season finale and Independence Celebration of "Wonderful Land" in viewership. However, Keshet's satire show led in viewership percentage, registering 2,1 viewers and 1.<> percent ratings.

Nadav Frishman, who created "Main Jackpot" with Yaniv Zohar and serves as one of its writers, told Walla! Culture that he has no explanation for how it happened - but he is very excited. "I face it amazed and it excites me every time. I feel the great love that the series receives. It's love, I have no other word, it's not just curiosity. It's love. On Kan's main box office Facebook you see people's love and proficiency, having seen each episode full of times. It's really incomprehensible, it's like the love for the pale tracker, Givat Halfon and Burekas ribbons. We see the numbers, also on digital – last week's episode got <>.<> million views on YouTube. Kan Box and Netflix also see full. That means people watch each episode dozens of times. It's amazing."

The victory becomes sweeter over the question mark that once stood over the continuation of the series and the rejections it received from other channels, which are likely now regretted. "I don't like the word victory, because in the word victory there are those who lose and we are not against someone. I'm proud of the way we've taken. We were already sent home a few years ago, after the school was closed and no one wanted it, Reshet and Keshet rejected the program. If it weren't for the girls who broke up with you, you wouldn't have met the love of your life. I have no anger in my heart."

And it's heartwarming that creating an Israeli comedy has beaten two reality shows.

"The prime-time shows on the 12th and 13th, 'New Love' and 'The Perfect Dessert,' are high-budget reality shows, and we're not too financially invested, one location, on a medium budget. So I'm having fun. I feel like Bar Kochba who defeated the Roman Empire. When comedy wins reality, it's something that inspires you to keep creating. And by the way, I'll tell you something: the best episodes of the season are still on the way. Soon the mess will begin."

Amir Shuroush, who plays Ramsey in the series, told Walla! Culture: "It's really overwhelming because at first here it didn't count ratings at all and it's not really measured on the channel. It's very exciting. The fact that there are ratings on this channel is a wonderful thing."

Can you try to explain the success?

"Look, the supermarket allows us to express the diversity of the ingathering of the exiles in Israel. In addition, the characters entered the heart, know them and their psyche, their minuses and pluses. We feel like people went with the characters. And of course the writing of this thing, and the meetings of the characters. And luck and God."

When the premiere of the current season of "Main Box Office" beat out the season finale of "Wonderful Land" in which you also star (but "Land" led in viewership percentage), where does that put you emotionally? Are you in favor of mom or dad?

"It puts me in the bathroom, that's my answer. I go to the bathroom. That's the question I'm asking about. I'm glad good things are happening to the 'main checkout'. Kan 11 is really a good channel, it has so much good content, it supports so many people and it really deserves to succeed and reap fruit."
