Luisana Lopilato: "When I visited Israel as a teenager I didn't think about the dangers" (from "The Unimportants", Kan 11)
Anyone who grew up in Israel in the first decade of the 2000s remembers Luisana Lopiletto - star of "Tiny" and "The Rebels", series that became a cultural phenomenon and aroused admiration among masses of girls and boys in Israel. On Passover 2003, at the height of the second intifada, she toured Israel with the other stars of the series. But would she have allowed her daughter to do the same?
"I was 15 when I did 'The Rebels.' As a teenager, I think I didn't think so much about the dangers at the time, did I?" she says in a special episode of "The Unimportants" at Ban 11, which will air tomorrow and deals with the same visit. "If you ask me today, I probably don't know if I would have given my daughter in the middle of a war... I would say I need to be there, I need to see it. I do not know. I'm a protective mother."
In the episode, which is also interviewed by avid Israeli fans, series producer Chris Morena and actor Jorge from his brother, Lopiletto also describes the shock of the extent of admiration in Israel, and recalls the same tour. Watch the episode here.
