Did you write a long message, but there were a few mistakes? It's not lost: WhatsApp officially announced Monday morning that it is working on the ability to edit sent text messages. The new feature is initially available to beta users and will roll out globally gradually over the next few months.

As already reported, WhatsApp will add the "Edit" button in the message balloon menu, so even if you have already sent a message with a spelling error - you can rewrite it and not add an asterisk, or flood the chat until you manage to write the right sentence (and for those of us it did not happen). However, editing time is limited to only 15 minutes from the time the message is sent.

Also, WhatsApp will leave no marks (at least for now) on a message that has been edited, so if you managed to edit the message in time - no one will know about it. It is important to note that WhatsApp already developed this software about 5 years ago, but decided to eliminate it at the last minute. Now, we all hope that this time she won't do the same.
