Four years after the launch of the current Corsa, the manufacturer's first model under the wings of the Stellantis Group receives comprehensive treatment, external and internal, mechanical and electric. It will reach the domestic market in early 2024.
In appearance, the most noticeable change is the acceptance of the familiar brand front with the opaque grill, similar to that of the Astra, Mocha and Corsland. At its edges, the LED matrix lights are also upgraded to 14 units instead of 8 as of today, which, according to the manufacturer, improves the accuracy of the distribution of the lighting beam and the ability to selectively illuminate certain areas and darken others. There are a few other changes in the cabin such as a new gear selector, new upholstery for the seats and a steering wheel with a different design than the familiar one. The 7-inch digital instrument cluster with new graphics, the multimedia screen will be 10-inch, with compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless, as well as an option for wireless mobile charging. In terms of the software that the multimedia system will run, it is based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors (similar to cell phone processors) and like the C4X, here too there is an over-the-air update (OTA).
Safety systems include automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure correction, speed sign recognition and more.

Beneath the exterior design, the Super Mini receives a series of changes to its drive units. At the base of the petrol variants remains the Stellantis Group's 1.2-litre engine with an output that rises from 130 to 136 hp, but this time it is augmented by a mild hybrid system and a 48V battery that will allow engine bleeds for longer periods of time, while powering power consumers such as air conditioning. Also in the petrol version - a new gearbox - this time instead of the 8-speed planetary one there is a dual-clutch with six transmission ratios. Opel doesn't publish fuel consumption figures, but when this power unit was unveiled, Stellantis promised a 15% improvement over the existing 1.2-litre models, so the potential is around 21km per litre.
In the electric division, it will continue to be sold with the existing 136 hp powertrain, but with a range that has been slightly improved to 357 km instead of 349 km so far. At the same time, the Astra will also be offered with the manufacturer's more powerful electric unit, which also appears in the upgraded electric C4X. Here there is 156 hp and a larger battery of 54 kWh instead of the 50 kWh battery. The declared range in this version will be 406 km. The charging time on a DC charger at a rate of up to 100 kW is 30 minutes from 30 to 80%. A full charge on an 11 kW charger will take 5 <> hours.
