A man was arrested after ramming into the gate protecting the entrance to Downing Street, the official residence of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in London, on Thursday, according to local police.

The driver was arrested for vandalism and dangerous driving, London's Metropolitan Police said on Twitter.
The accident occurred around 16:20 p.m. (local time), and the road leading to the site was closed. No one was injured in the crash, and an investigation is ongoing.
