Actress Dawn Lenny Gabay, one of the stars of the original version of the series "The Octet", criticized the creator of the series Giora Chamitzer on her Instagram story, who recently announced the launch of a remake of the series that will be broadcast on TikTok, in which eight new heroes will be cast. Leni Gabbay particularly attacked the casting for the series, wondering: "Giora, what are you going through? Are you in some 50-year-old crisis? Don't drag us into this thing." After a while she removed the post.
"I tried not to say anything, not to do anything - out of respect I have for Giora, and I have a lot of respect for Giora.
But I just can't stand by and see the things I see," the actress claimed. "When you tell people 'the octet,' they imagine us. Don't they imagine eight new people whose connection is at all? That it wasn't against them, they seem really lovely people to me, but what's the connection? I don't understand."

The teen and science fiction drama "The Octet" premiered in 2005 on the children's channel for Hot customers, and consisted of four seasons that aired until 2013. Alongside creator and writer Giora Hamizer, the series is signed by Robbie Dueñas, the director, Noga Communications and Teddy as producers. The series starred Don Lenny Gabay, Michael Aloni, Adi Himbluy, Hili Yalon, Avi Kornik, Shira Wilensky and Yedidya Vital. The series was a great success, following which Giora Chamitzer and Atara Ofek published a series of books dealing with the tasks of the Octet.
Last week, Chamizer announced the return of the hit series, about a decade after it dropped - which will be broadcast on the TikTok app. The production promises that the new season will include "rehearsals for a huge nostalgic show, reenactments of iconic scenes from the original series, old and new songs, and as always in the Khamizer series, many more surprises down the road."
"The Octet 2023" will premiere in original format, declaring itself "the world's first four-you series." As part of it, more than a thousand videos will be uploaded on TikTok and concentrated on the TikTok account "LBRL", some of which are scripted and some spontaneous, depending on occurrence, audience reactions and viewing data. The new version was cast by actors Eili Chapman ("Shishu and Rejoice"), Maya Kay ("Survivor"), Shahar Tabuch ("Closing Hour"), Maya Dagan, Amit Mizrahi, Idan Shalva, Esther Awka and Omri Kolli.
