A man in his forties was shot dead in a street in Grenoble Wednesday afternoon by two people riding scooters who fled, said prosecutors and police.
The attack occurred shortly before 16 p.m. at the height of several shops in the Abbey district, and the 43-year-old victim, wounded "by a bullet in the neck", died shortly after, said the police, confirming information from the Dauphiné Libéré.
The victim identified
"Two individuals on a scooter, hooded," fled, police said. The shooter would be "the rear passenger", according to the same source. "The victim is a priori identified but verifications are underway," said for his part the prosecutor of the Republic of Grenoble, Eric Vaillant.
"The duty magistrate of the public prosecutor's office moved to the scene (...) and referred the investigation into the murder to the police officers of the judicial police service," he added.
In recent years, the settling of accounts has multiplied in the capital of Isère. Already last week, a 26-year-old man was found driving a burning car.
