The facts denounced would have taken place one to two years before the filming of the telecrochet. The rapper Yuz Boy, winner of season 2 of the rap contest broadcast on Netflix "New school", is targeted by a complaint for rape, we learned this Thursday, confirming information from BFMTV. An investigation, under the direction of the Paris prosecutor's office, is underway, the latter tells us.
The complaint was filed in August 2022, says BFMTV. The complainant says she is an acquaintance of the rapper, originally from Saint-Ouen (Seine-Saint-Denis). The 26-year-old, who wished to remain anonymous, told the channel that she was the victim of three rapes between 2020 and 2021. "I tried to push him aside with my hand and verbally asked him to stop clearly," she says of the first sexual assault she says she was a victim of.
The rapper and Netflix were unaware of
Contacted by Le Parisien, Alissia Dexet, the rapper's lawyer, ensures that Yuz Boy was not aware of this complaint until the publication of the complainant's testimony on BFMTV. "We very much hope that an investigation will be carried out quickly in order to clear the honour of my client. He is impatiently waiting to be heard by the authorities," she said.
Netflix, broadcaster of "New School", tells Puremedias that it was made aware of this complaint "a few hours before the broadcast" of the final, which saw Yuz Boy win. The platform also explains that "no such element appeared during the extensive background checks we conducted before selecting candidates."
Yuz Boy, 24, won the second season of Netflix's hook TV, which goes in search of the future rap star. Thanks to the interpretation of his song "Yafama", he won against Coelho and Dau. One year after the success of Fresh, it is the turn of the artist from Seine-Saint-Denis to pocket the check of 100,000 euros, promised to the winner of the program.
