Because he drove without a driver's license, Michael Mezencew collected 708 points in Flensburg. Now he is allowed to drive legally again.
If you don't follow the traffic rules, you will feel the consequences: a hefty fine and, depending on the violation, sometimes a driving ban. Anyone who has collected too many points in the traffic offender file in Flensburg is also allowed to run for the time being. The 33-year-old Michael Mezencew had a particularly strong points account. The man from Osnabrück, who is now allowed to get behind the wheel again, collected a whopping 708 points.
The trigger for this was a visit to a pub in 2012. At that time, Mezencew got behind the wheel with a blood alcohol level of 1.6 per thousand and was promptly caught by the police. His driver's license was gone, as was his job at a security company. A new job was quickly found, but the real trouble was yet to come.

"I was constantly promoted – in a year to the head of operations," Mezencew told Bild. Eventually, he got a company car, which he didn't use at first. From January 2017, however, the 33-year-old got behind the wheel and drove another private car. Still without a driver's license.

That went well until he was flashed in December 2017. It was only a few kilometers too much, but "from then on, the poop was steaming," Mezencew explained. No wonder, the results of subsequent investigations had it all. He was accused of 236 unauthorized trips within a year in a letter from the Oldenburg District Court. "They determined the days with trips via my Outlook calendar," said the 33-year-old.
Mezencew confronts the past and MPU – with success
Since these are criminal offenses, the catalog of fines struck with all severity. For each violation, Mezencew received three points on his Flensburg points account. So a total of 708 points. On top of that, the Osnabrücker had to pay a fine of 4,500 euros and bear the court costs of 1,000 euros. By the way, he is not alone with the big points account, a man from Speyer also collected almost 400 points.

A lesson that has not failed to have an effect, as the editorial team Netzerk Deutschland (RND) reports. Mezencev wants to drive legally again in the future and face his past. That's why he underwent the Medical-Psychological Examination (MPU). In order for him to really pass it, he even took advantage of coaching beforehand - with success. "Of course, that was quite an act," said the 33-year-old.
