At the age of 75, the vast majority of people have long since enjoyed their well-deserved retirement. At Porsche, on the other hand, people are still reinventing themselves even in old age. More and more cars from the Zuffenhausen-based sports car manufacturer will soon be purely electric, and the logo has also been given a makeover.

Porsche has taken a lot of time for this. To be precise, the revision took three years. The Zuffenhausen-based company is thus following a trend. Dacia, Opel, Renault, BMW, Kia, VW and most recently Citroën have also presented a revised logo. At Kia, however, this has caused more confusion.

Porsche opts for a more subtle gold tone

Porsche has therefore proceeded cautiously and has only made a few adjustments. The most striking difference to the old logo: The Stuttgart lettering can again be seen clearly above the prancing horse. This was only milled in the old version and is now highlighted again with black paint.

In addition, the coat of arms was slightly widened at the top and slimmed down at the bottom. The Porsche lettering has also been adapted and is now embedded in the golden surface. The gold tone is also a bit more subtle and has been combined with brushed metal. A new addition is a 3D honeycomb pattern in the red areas. The antler poles are also slimmer in the new version. On the other hand, the surfaces appear more evenly distributed.

New Porsche logo makes its debut on the Panamera

"The '75 Years of Porsche Sports Cars' anniversary was the occasion for us to revise the trademark," emphasises Michael Mauer, Head of Style Porsche. "Cleaner and more modern, the further developed crest conveys the character of Porsche." The refreshed coat of arms of the Zuffenhausen team will be used for the first time on the new Panamera at the end of 2023.

Since its introduction with the 356 in 1952, the Porsche logo has been revised for the sixth time, in 1954, 1963, 1973, 1994 and most recently in 2008. The corresponding versions of the crest are still available from Porsche Classic for owners of modern and classic cars.
