Watch the interview
After snatching a megaphone from a demonstrator last Friday in New York, Constitution Committee Chairman Simcha Rotman addressed the matter in an interview that got a little out of control with Oded Ben-Ami on Channel 12. At the beginning of the interview, Ben-Ami said: "I see you grabbing the megaphone, and as far as I know, this is the first time an elected official has used physical force on a demonstrator," to which Rothman replied: "That's not true, we're used to this false world you live in."
As the two cut each other off in speech, Rothman told Ben-Ami: "We are used to the false world you live in." Ben-Ami responded by demanding that Rothman preserve his dignity: "Dear Sir, you won't call me a liar, don't call me nicknames. Be as careful with my honor as I am with yours." Ben-Ami ended the interview with a sharp message to Rothman: "The last person to teach me what I am, and the last one to tell me I'm a liar will be you."
