With the launch of the electric Fiat 500 two years ago, we said that the price of the senior version, La Prima with a convertible roof, which was NIS 155,900 at the time, was very high. In the meantime, the model has come a long way, and 180 units later, the price of this version was NIS 10,000, for a small electric car, yes?
Today, the importer announces an across-the-board price reduction on all versions of the model by NIS <>,<>. Despite the initial instinct to welcome the move, it's hard not to look back at the model's prices upon arrival and not realize that this isn't really some dizzying news. In fact, from the broader perspective, there is technically a reduction here that emphasizes an increase in prices, as illogical as this sentence sounds.

When the electric 500 was launched here, prices started at NIS 100,190 for the basic short-range version (42 km declared). For the longer-range versions, those with the declared 320 kWh and 120 km battery, prices started at NIS 130,135 for the Fashion, NIS 155,130 for the Icon, NIS 150,160 for the open version, and NIS 180,3 for the senior version with a convertible.
Since then, and as of just before the discount, prices have crept upward, with the basic "Action" trim level in the current supply rising to NIS 1,155, the "Icon" NIS <>,<> in the closed version, NIS <>,<> in the open version and NIS <>,<> in the expensive La Prima version. The price of the <>+<> configuration with one and a half doors was NIS <>,<>.

Today, with the announcement of a sweeping discount of NIS 10,000 on all versions of the car, prices start at NIS 120,140 for "Action", NIS 150,170 for "Icon" and NIS 3,1 for this level of finish in the convertible version, while the senior open-top version will cost NIS 145,3. The 500+<> configuration in the "Icon" trim level will cost NIS <>,<>.
The immediate significance for the new buyers is, of course, good - lowering the price of a new car is a very rare move in the Israeli car market, with the last significant move that shocked the market was that of Tesla, when it sharply reduced the prices of the Model Y and Model <>. The second-hand effect in this case was very significant, some of which can still be felt today months after the move on the used car boards.
Will this also be the case with the electric Fiat <>?
