American and Canadian researchers present this Tuesday in the journal Nature Communications a totally innovative method of contraception for cats. For the first time, scientists have used gene therapy to prevent the reproduction of domestic felines. The approach, successfully tested at this stage on six females, could become a much less invasive alternative to the current surgical sterilization.
