Six years after the model was introduced, Yamaha's popular scooter receives a facelift and is being renewed to continue maintaining its place in the top segment of mid-range scooters.
The mechanical base remained intact, so that on the same chassis, a pair of steering triangles for the front fork, 15-inch wheels at the front and 14-inch wheels at the rear, and a vigorous 292 cc and 28 hp engine, mainly changes were added to the shell of the vehicle, both in terms of design and rider interface.
At the front, it has X-shaped lighting as in the model name and the same lighting game on the rear light. There are also new body panels and the signals have moved to a high position and, according to Yamaha, also contributes to their better visibility. The new seat design makes it easier to reach the ground with your feet, in response to feedback from riders who complained about the height of the seat, as well as the height of the handlebars, which can now be chosen between two angles to make the riding position less cramped. Other notable additions are to the more prestigious "Tech Max" version with an aluminum cover for the foot insoles, a leather cover for the storage compartment and a unique painting for this version.

Other technological changes are made, with the 4.3-inch LCD screen replacing the model's analog instrument cluster. The new screen enables full mobile connectivity through a Yamaha app that allows displaying driving data and statistics to the rider on the device and displaying messages on the scooter's screen - and we're really not convinced that's a good thing. In the Tech Max version, the display is split into two screens, the bottom of 4.2 inches and the upper TFT screen of 3.2 inches, in this version you can also control Spotify and other data displays. Other accessories such as keyless drive and compartment opening, two storage compartments, a USB socket and a two-position windshield remain unchanged.

The Yamaha X Max has never been a budget scooter and is priced above its competitors in the volume and power group, and the new generation is no exception in that respect. The base price of the scooter will be NIS 40,42 and it will come in two colors gray or blue, while the price of the Tech Max version that will come in dark green and matte black is NIS 2,000. This price puts it in the base version at a gap of NIS 350,<> from the Honda Forza <>, its direct competitor.
