A man, armed with a knife, attacked several people on Thursday in a park on the shores of Lake Annecy, injuring six including four children. On the many videos that have circulated on social networks, we see the assailant trotting knife in hand, chased by a man, hiking bag on his back and waving another bag in front of him for protection.

If he fails to neutralize the suspect, he manages to move him away from the playground and divert his attention, while many children were in the park. In another sequence, he is seen getting rid of his hiking bag to better pursue the man with the knife who runs away.
He had begun a tour of France of cathedrals
Internet users quickly managed to identify the "hero with backpacks". His name is Henri, he is 24 years old and would have started two and a half months ago a tour of France cathedrals that led him to Savoy. Before the attack, he posted a Facebook story showing Lake Annecy. An hour later, he posted another image, this time showing fire trucks and asking for "a prayer union for the victims" of the attack.
Finally in a last story, he says he joined the prefecture for the deposition of witnesses. "Pray for the children, I'm fine," he wrote in his last message.

According to an article in the Catholic newspaper Aleteia, Henri graduated in philosophy at IPC and holds a master's degree in management. He began his journey on March 27 by the monastery of Barroux, then would have passed through Avignon, Béziers, Marseille, Monaco and Grenoble in particular. This Thursday morning, he had indicated on a site retracing his journey to be in Annecy.
The young man would not be the only one to have intervened at the time of the attack. In addition to the nanny who tries to intervene when the assailant stabs in a pram, two agents of the city also tried to neutralize him, according to the mayor of Annecy.
