Could we divert an antidiabetic treatment to effectively fight against the long Covid? According to a new US study published Thursday in the journal The Lancet Infectious Diseases, taking metformin, a type 2 diabetes drug that is both cheap and widely available, reduces the risk of contracting a long Covid by 40% after testing positive.

Fatigue, cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, difficulty concentrating, digestive disorders, eye damage or skin disorders... The persistence of one or more of these symptoms beyond two months after infection may be a sign of a long Covid, even if there is no biomarker or reliable test to definitively establish the diagnosis.
