Less than a week after Apple officially announced the launch of its new phone, the iPhone 15, it is releasing an update to iOS 17, which runs on iPhone XS and newer, on Monday that will also include some interesting features.

We've rounded up some of these new features, so if you have an iPhone – you'll know what's in store right after updating the system.

StandBy

According to Apple, when your iPhone is on the side while you charge it, you can choose for it to display different information on its screen such as clock, calendar, favorite photos, weather forecast, and more.

Photos for your contacts

You can choose whichever photo you want to attach to your contacts, and even adjust its background colors and fonts.

NameDrop

Want to share your contact list with other iPhone owners? All you have to do is bring the two devices closer together, choose the phone number or email address of the person you want to share with, and hop – the information will transfer.

A message for the lazy

Using the iPhone messaging app, iMessage? From today, you can swipe left on the message you want to reply to, so a dedicated response window opens.

Automatic correction resumes

Who among us hasn't happened that while we wanted to write something, automatic correction did its job – and completely wrong words? So, Apple decided to upgrade this feature, improving the software that learns the words you write and corrects them more accurately than before. On top of that, you'll also see recommended words that you can choose to use Helen during your conversations – as you type.

So that you can know which words have been corrected, each such word will be highlighted with a mark underneath it, which clicking on will show you the original word you wrote, so that you can easily and efficiently correct your texts.

Offline trip

Want to get from point to point using Apple's Maps app? Now you can do this even when you're not connected to the internet. To make that happen, just download the map you need – and you can use it as much as you like.

Siri gets shorter

Want to activate Apple's artificial intelligence system? Instead of having to say "Hey Siri" to activate the voice assistant by simply saying "Siri". The power of a word.
