The latest to join the club of manufacturers extending the warranty period on its cars is Jaguar Land Rover, or JLR for short, which now provides a 5-year warranty to Discovery, Defender and Rover customers. Part of the rationale behind this move is to strengthen the value of the car in the used market. A car that, even after say, 3 years, still enjoys a 3-year warranty certainly provides some peace of mind to the buyer and when the used car buyer has this confidence, we are one step closer to bringing the first customer to the showroom as well.
