The bus is protected by stone-throwing manufactured by Merkavim / Electra Afikim
In light of the wave of terrorist attacks on roads in the Occupied Territories, Electra Afikim is beginning to operate 11 additional armored buses.
The new armored fleet includes stone-proof buses based on the Chinese Hager chassis for the first time.
This is the first time that a Chinese bus has been used as the basis for an armored model intended for use on Judea and Samaria roads. The company purchased seven such buses, partially funded by the Ministry of Defense, which bears the cost of protection, and three of them have already entered service. They were built in a Merkavim factory in the Caesarea industrial zone.

In addition, the company purchased four bulletproof buses based on the Scania chassis from the crate factory in the Timurim industrial zone, and is negotiating with the Ministries of Defense and Transport for the purchase of 15 additional such buses.
Tal Cohen, CEO of Electra Afikim, said, "We are aware of the difficulties experienced by residents in recent times, and therefore we have acted and are still working on several levels in order to bring about a rapid improvement in service. The introduction of new buses alongside other actions will inevitably lead to an improvement in the level of service, accuracy and reliability in public transportation."
