As has been the case since 2017, when it debuted as the official car of the Elysée Palace on the occasion of the investiture of President Macron, the DS 7 Crossback Presidentiel accompanied the head of state French with King Charles III and Queen Camilla during the parade through the streets of Paris.
The special Presidentiel version is a tailor-made creation designed not only to protect the head of state and any guests but also to celebrate the savoir-faire French.
This limousine SUV follows the DS tradition that accompanies the presidents of the French Republic, after the DS and the special SM (made with a car body elongated by the Carrosserie Chapron) of Charles de Gaulle also Georges Pompidou, Valérie Giscard d'Estaing, François Mitterrand and Jacques Chirac traveled aboard the DS.
More recently, François Hollande chose the DS 5 Hybrid4 for his investiture, a model replaced by the DS 7 Crossback Presidentiel made specifically for Macron.
Painted in Ink Blue - which is part of the brand's catalog - the car derives from a DS 7 in Opera trim to which numerous customizations have been added.
As can be seen in the images of the parade with King Charles III, there are the custom-made sunroof, the inscriptions République Française on the sides and a double flag holder on the front fenders. In addition, the mirror shells and 20-inch wheels are decorated with light golden touches. The interiors in black Art Leather - custom-designed - are embellished by the Toile de Laque upholstery created by the famous Atelier Maury in Paris while not only do you notice the details of the 'enrichments' of the controls and equipment in the cockpit, however, partially visible in the photo shoot of the magazine L'Argus.
As specified by the premium brand of the Stellantis Group, the DS 7 Crossback Presidentiel also offers the advanced technology that is present as standard in this model. These are the Connected Pilot system, Level 2 autonomous driving and Active Scan Suspension that anticipate road imperfections in real time thanks to information provided by a camera that scans the route.
Other DS 7s, including the DS 7 Élysée, accompanied the procession and in particular Queen Camilla and Brigitte Macron were hosted aboard one of these DS 7 produced in Mulhouse. Joining the fleet of the Presidency of the Republic French in November 2021, the DS 7 Élysée is also a unique creation, which takes up the basis of the DS 7 E-Tense 4x4 300.
