The Porsche 911 is an iconic sports car, offering two types of open-air variants: the classic Convertible, or the Targa.
The latter takes up the concept of discovery with central rollbar born in 1965, suspended from 1993 to 2014, and back in vogue with the 911 of the previous generation, identified with the project code 991.

For the test of Ansa Motori we drove the 911 Targa 4 in the sportiest version, the GTS, credited with 480 hp: 30 hp more than the Targa 4S. As on the first Targa, that of 1965, the roof is composed of a large arch, the movable part above the front seats, and the panoramic rear window. The mechanism opens and closes, when the car is stationary, in a time of 19 seconds. When the canvas part disappears, the passenger compartment is flooded with light, while when the car is closed, the silhouette is particular and elegant because of the rounded rear window. To characterize the GTS variant, compared to the Targa 4 and 4S, think the black or dark details of the exterior: among these stand out the characteristic arch with Targa logo; the front spoiler lip, light metal wheels with central closure, the GTS logo on the doors and rear, as well as the rear bonnet grille slats. The aesthetic picture of the bodywork is completed by the grilles of the tailpipes of the sports exhaust system, always in black, to which can be added other details in glossy black on the body that appears elegant and muscular at the same time. Even the light signatures have a sportier characterization, as the LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus as standard have the crown and the frame of the daytime running lights dimmed.
Obviously, a sporty touch has also been reserved for the cockpit, thanks to the decorative element on the instrument panel, on the center console, and on the matt carbon door trims, and to the brushed and anodized aluminum inserts. In addition, black Race-Tex details distinguish the central panels of the seats, the steering wheel crown, the armrests of the door panels, and the cover of the glove compartment. Everything has been embellished with decorative stitching, in plaster on our specimen, but also available in carmine red, which are a counter to the GTS logo embroidered on the headrests, and with the dials of the tachometer and the Sport Chrono watch, which reflect the chromatic tone. The instrumentation proposes the 5 dials, typical of the Porsche 911, but revisited in a modern key. As you can perceive from the four digital instruments that surround the large analog tachometer and with a small display in the center.
There is also a 10.25-inch screen dedicated to the multimedia system, compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with the integrated Apple Music app, and easy to manage, due to its speed of response. Turning what is the legacy of a key, always placed on the left of the steering wheel, as tradition dictates, starts the supercharged 6-cylinder boxer engine with 480 hp and 570 Nm of maximum torque.
With the PDK 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, which can also be operated manually through the paddles behind the steering wheel, driving this 911 is immediately engaging. Thanks to a set-up derived from that of the 911 Turbo, from which the 20 and 21-inch wheels also derive, respectively at the front and rear, and from which the braking system arrives. With all-wheel drive that helps by calling into question the front, taking advantage of the typical traction of the 911, derived from the cantilever position of the rear engine, and with the contribution provided by the active suspension with PASM system, the Targa 4 GTS is sharp and safe between curves.
In addition, with the presence of the Package Sport Chrono as standard, just push the Sport Response button, located on the steering wheel, to get maximum performance instantly for 20 seconds. Everything is emphasized by an exhaust system with valves regulated by a characteristic diagram and completely variable, which ensure the right soundtrack at every acceleration. The performance is very high, as indicated by the 3.5 seconds to shoot from 0 to 100 km / h and the top speed of 307 km / h, while consumption, when not exploiting the mechanics approach 10 km / l on average. The price starts at 184,425 euros, but drawing on the list of options quickly touches 200,000 euros.
