While her brother King Charles III was busy 'assessing' alongside President Macron the qualities of French cars, Princess Anne visited JLR's Halewood plant in the UK, in this case to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the start of vehicle production at the plant. Princess Anne received an in-depth look at the electrification plans and work in progress at the facility and handed over to the local charity The Inclusive Hub a Discovery Sport, built in Halewood and donated by JLR. "I am delighted to join His Royal Highness, Lord Lieutenant, guests of honour and my family at JLR," said Trevor Leeks Halewood Operations Director, "to celebrate today our diamond anniversary of car manufacturing at Halewood." "We look forward to the exciting new chapter as the plant progresses towards an all-electric future, building the next generation of vehicles and delivering on our Reimagine strategy and ambition to be the world's leading manufacturer of modern luxury cars." During her visit Princess Anne also visited the Queen's Green Canopy Orchard, a spectacular orchard that is part of a sustainable ecosystem that was built on site to celebrate the platinum jubilee in 2022.
