After the uproar following musician Ariel Zilber's decision to donate to the murderer Amiram Ben Uliel, which caused Shalom Hanoch and Aviv Geffen to cancel their participation in his festive 80th birthday show next month, he will not be a guest at Arkady Duchin's festive performance scheduled for October 2 at the Rishon LeZion Festival. In the evening, which includes new arrangements of Duchin's hits from all periods, Arkady was supposed to host Zilber, but in light of Zilber's remarks, he was replaced by Micha Shitrit who would be a guest in his place.

Last week, musicians Shalom Hanoch, Aviv Geffen and Arkady Duchin announced the cancellation of their participation in the festive performance marking the 80th birthday of musician Ariel Zilber, after the latter donated to the murderer of the Dawabsheh family, Amiram Ben Uliel, as part of a crowdfunding campaign. In recent days, more than a million shekels have been raised for Ben Uliel, in a campaign promoted by MK Limor Sun Har Melech (Otzma Yehudit).

"Unfortunately, I cannot take part on one stage with Ariel Zilber, whom I respect as a creator and artist," Geffen wrote. "There are borders that must not be crossed and they have been crossed. These are days in which we are fighting for the image of Israel, for blessed unity, patience and for lowering the flames. I am unable to take part in normalizing and legitimizing such intentions and statements." Shalom Hanoch said: "We do not take part in activities around an artist with such a level of values and morals."

"I firmly believe in Amiram Ben Uliel's innocence and in a fair trial," Zilber wrote in response. "I do not support murder and at no point have I said so. And this is the essence of democracy and freedom of opinion, which I have expressed according to my conscience. I regret that my friends chose to give in to pressure from all sorts of factors, and during this it seems strange to boycott my eightieth birthday show, which I plan to celebrate at the Heichal HaTarbut next month together with everyone who supports the music I created and that has accompanied the people of Israel for decades and God willing, for many decades to come."
