Kan Educational's series "As Long as Our Hearts," a children's drama series dealing with Holocaust remembrance, will compete for the International Emmy Award. This was announced Tuesday evening. Three more series will compete against the series in the category of children's series from Japan, Australia and Argentina.

"As Long as in My Heart" broadcast on Kan Educational is nominated in the category of Best Children's Live Action Series. This is Kan's third nomination after the main box office nomination and Tehran's win. This is the first time that a children's and youth series from Israel has been nominated for an International Emmy Award. The series was created by Chen Kaliman Gal and directed by Roman Shomonov. The awards will be presented at this year's International Emmy Awards on November 20 in New York. The series stars Alex Silberg, Ido Taku, Yasmin Gandis, Avraham Arneson, Oranit Edri, Rotem Keinan, Dorit Peled Harpaz and many more.

The series "As Long as My Heart", broadcast on Kan Educational, tells about a journey of high school students to the extermination camps in Poland. The series deals with questions of Holocaust remembrance, through the eyes of the third and fourth generations, through the stories of the young people and their coping methods during the journey. The series raises issues of memory and identity, and of the place that the national and private past occupies in our daily present.
