Fir trees that soar straight to the sky, and, below, some houses grouped in hamlets, set along small forest roads that follow the curves of the Bruche River. Nestled in the heart of this valley, on the borders of Alsace and the Vosges, the village of Plaine, barely 900 inhabitants, has been holding its breath for four days. "We can't help but imagine things, including tragic ones," says one resident. But we would at least like Lina to be found, one way or another, and for this unbearable wait to stop for her mother."
