Elon Musk, founder of Tesla and owner of X (Twitter), responded to a tweet in support of Argentina's new president: "Argentina is preparing for prosperity," he wrote. It's not the first time the world's richest man, who boasts a fortune of $241 billion, has spoken out about local politics.
In this case, Musk responded to a tweet celebrating Milei's victory with the flag of Gadsden, an icon of libertarian thought. In September of this year, Musk had referred to Tucker Carlson's interview with Milei, which he considered "interesting."
"Very interesting talk that goes far beyond Argentina in the topics discussed," the tycoon had tweeted. Weeks earlier he had tweeted to the same effect.

The founder of Mercado Libre, Marcos Galperín, tweeted after Javier Milei's victory in the runoff with Sergio Massa in a meeting with a Peronist councilor from Lanús, Agustín Ballardes: "Hello nice. How's it going?" he replied, in response to a chicane that the official had written on Sunday afternoon.
Galperín had uploaded a post to X, formerly Twitter, in relation to the election: "Today we vote, never blank," he wrote. An hour later, the councilman provoked him, responding "like your employees." After Sergio Massa came out to acknowledge the defeat and the consequent consecration of Javier Milei as president, Galperín responded:
Minutes earlier, he had tweeted an image with a single word: "Free."

Sergio Massa, Minister of Economy and candidate for president of Union for the Fatherland, cast his vote this past Sunday at noon and then gave a press conference in which he highlighted the importance of this presidential runoff against Javier Milei.
"It is an extremely important election, which defines what country we are going to travel, how to navigate the next four years, and we have the responsibility to build a path of trust moving forward. We want all of us who intervene in the electoral process to be held accountable, with the serenity and temperance that such a pivotal moment for the country must have," he said.
The official candidate stressed that so far the election is taking place with "absolute normality", after the controversies in the run-up to the day due to the allegations of alleged fraud from La Libertad Avanza.
