The story begins on August 23rd. On that day, in Feytiat, a district in the south of Limoges, a 76-year-old pedestrian died after being hit by a car. Yaya Sow, an independent building contractor, who was at the scene of the collision, saw the driver trying to flee. He followed him with his personal vehicle and managed - not without crumpling metal - to force him to stop. Then, forces the fugitive to wait for the police, who will immediately arrest him. According to France Bleu Limousin.

But now, 48-year-old Yaya Sow is left without a vehicle after helping to arrest the driver. The driver was driving without a license and without insurance and has since been sentenced to three years in prison. While everyone praised Yaya's heroic gesture, he was in a perilous situation for the rest of his activity.
With some savings, he buys a new used car. Quickly, the vehicle breaks down and is unusable, reports France Bleu. A real nightmare. To get to the construction sites, he only has public transport, otherwise he has to "ask friends" to bring him. "If I have things to take to go a little further, I can't," he told local radio about his construction equipment.
It is in this context that an online fundraiser has been launched for him to buy a vehicle. Cathy Meunier, a woman from Limoges, moved by Yaya Sow's act, is at the origin of it. "I did it with my network", 300 euros were collected at first. But the information is spread through a few elected officials and local figures and in recent days, more than 650 people have put their hands in their pockets. "I say wow! I think it's great, it makes me feel good," Cathy told the local media.
"It's huge for me. It goes straight to my heart! Yaya said. Sitting on his sofa, Yaya Sow does not believe it, he assures France Bleu, this Thursday. For the past few days, the online fundraiser for him to repair his car or buy a new one has exceeded12,000 euros. An insane generosity for a true act of courage.
