Young Valentin, missing since the discovery of his parents' bodies in the burnt rubble of the house where they lived in Isère, was arrested this Saturday at the end of the morning in Montpellier (Hérault). The 15-year-old, who is wanted as part of an appeal for witnesses, was taken into custody.
The gendarmes had issued an appeal for witnesses on Thursday evening to locate the teenager. A judicial investigation for murder and destruction by fire was opened on Friday. The two bodies bore "gunshot wounds to the skull" and to the chest for one of them, the prosecutor of Bourgoin-Jallieu Nathalie Ermite said in a statement on Friday morning, before relinquishing the case to the Grenoble prosecutor's office.
The family unit consisted of four people: in addition to the missing teenager, the father, a 58-year-old engineer, the 52-year-old mother who worked from home, and the eldest son, 17, who had left home the day before "to go to his place of study". The latter is "now safe, as well as his two adult half-sisters no longer living in the region," according to the prosecutor's office.
