He was shot on his way to school. A 31-year-old man, already convicted of drug trafficking, was shot and wounded on Tuesday morning in front of his home in Cargèse (South Corsica) while he was taking his children to their school, the Ajaccio prosecutor's office said.
Antoine-Dominique Spinosi, who has seven convictions on his criminal record, mainly for drug trafficking but also for extortion and aggravated robbery, "was taking his children to school when he was targeted," the Ajaccio prosecutor's office said, adding that they were not injured. According to local media, he was with his one-year-old baby and four-year-old son.
Motorcycle set on fire
Wounded in the abdomen, the man was transported by helicopter to the hospital in Ajaccio, the prosecutor's office said, adding that his vital prognosis was not engaged. He remained conscious while being taken care of by emergency services, the fire department said. An investigation for attempted murder has been opened and entrusted to the gendarmerie's research section and the judicial police.
Shortly after the events, which took place at 8:25 a.m., a motorcycle was discovered set on fire between Cargèse and Piana (South Corsica), the prosecutor's office said, without being able to establish for the moment a formal link with this assassination attempt, even if this modus operandi is frequently used in the settling of scores.
