In all, 27 people are concerned, including Marine Le Pen. The public prosecutor's office announced on Friday that the president of the National Rally group (formerly the National Front), 26 other people and the party were on trial in the case of parliamentary assistants to MEPs.
The former president of the party, then the FN, Jean-Marie Le Pen, the mayor of Perpignan Louis Aliot, and the deputy (now Reconquête) Nicolas Bay, are also concerned.
They are suspected of having used European Union funds to pay assistants who actually worked for the party.
