Sports cars are known as an investment. But a Ferrari 599 GTO with high mileage shows that luxury cars are also there to drive.
For the vast majority of people, the car is probably just a commodity that they use to go to work or shopping. The mileage is correspondingly high. With sports cars like the Ferrari 599 GTO, it's a different story. These serve more as an investment than as an everyday car. But as we all know, exceptions prove the rule.
Everyday car instead of investment: Ferrari 599 GTO has over 228,000 kilometers on the clock
On the one hand, there is a Ferrari Enzo, which has around 150,000 kilometers on the clock. But even a 599 GTO diligently racks up kilometres instead of sitting in the garage as an investment. The Italian sports car has already covered a whopping 228,222 kilometres, as a picture on the Instagram channel Prancingclassics shows.
But it would have been well worth it. When the Ferrari 599 GTO was launched, the new price was 317,500 euros. If you take a look at the used car market, you can see that the sports car is now worth many times over. There are currently three GTOs advertised on AutoScout24. The cheapest one costs 899,000 euros and has 10,115 kilometers on the clock. The most expensive is 1.15 million euros and is said to have 3,800 kilometers down.
Record-breaking Ferrari 599 GTO: Owner to live in Switzerland
So it's quite possible that the Ferrari in question is the 599 GTO with the highest mileage. However, little is known about the history of the sports car. Underneath the Instagram post, it simply says: "Incredibly high mileage on this Ferrari 599 GTO!"

As is so often the case, however, there are users who think they know the car. "He lives on a mountain in Switzerland and uses it every day to go shopping, and has done so for 15 years or more," one user wrote. But Geneva and Germany are also brought into play as places of residence. However, Instagram users agree on one thing: it's good that the Ferrari 599 GTO has such a high mileage. After all, cars are supposed to be driven. This applies to sports cars as well as small cars.
