FI asks for a signal on justice before the European elections

Forza Italia also wants its part in the reforms. If the League is strenuously engaged in the battle to bring home its place in the House of Autonomy in the Chamber of Autonomy in time for the European Championships and FdI will receive the first green light on the premiership in the commission on Tuesday, the Azzurri are asking for a signal on the separation of the careers before the vote on 8 and 9 June. Autonomy, premiership and separation of careers, as the Italian leader Antonio Tajani recalls, represent a "trident of reforms" which, according to the pacts between allies, must be carried forward together, with times that look towards the next electoral appointment. The Azzurri would therefore like to obtain a signal on justice and for this reason they are pressuring the minister Carlo Nordio who has long announced a government bill on the matter which should soon - according to some rumors not confirmed even on Tuesday - arrive in the Council of Ministers. "We - underlines Tajani - are absolutely convinced that we must proceed with the justice reform. Nordio is working and will bring it as soon as possible, if he can make it by Tuesday I will be very happy". Also because the calendar of the Chambers between now and the June vote is complicated and if the times were extended too much it would be difficult to arrive at a first parliamentary vote in time for the European elections.

Among other things - as the vice president of the Chamber Justice Commission Pietro Pittalis points out - the legislative proposals on the matter are already present in Parliament and the hearings have already taken place. And the arrival of the Nordio bill could, paradoxically, slow down the process if it were decided to rely on that text for the in-depth analyzes that take place before the start of the parliamentary process. "Don't trust Forza Italia", is the warning from Action MP Enrico Costa. "The government - he observes - is implementing a delaying action, it is not accelerating: let Parliament move forward. We are ready to vote the one already presented by FI as the basic text". According to the parliamentarian, the separation of careers is not destined to arrive in the CDM as early as next week. "Tuesday will be yet another black smoke, don't trust FI", he comments.

For now, however, the Azzurri are waiting to see but remain cautious as they also have the possibility of influencing the timing of the Autonomy examination which the League absolutely wants in the Chamber by April 29th. On Monday, the president of the Chamber's Constitutional Affairs commission, Nazario Pagano, will communicate the new timing on the measure to the bureau. And then it will be tour de force until Saturday 27th to close in commission. Meanwhile, on the evening of April 23, the premiership will get its green light in the Senate commission for the Chamber.
