The teenager was a student at the college Edgar-Quinet, in the III arrondissement.

A 13-year-old student, schooled at the Edgar-Quinet college in the III arrondissement of Marseille, committed suicide by hanging. The facts occurred Monday evening when the schoolboy had just returned to his home, reports La Provence.

Despite the care of the firefighters and his emergency transfer to the Timone hospital, the adolescent could not be revived.

Even if this kind of dramatic event calls for the greatest caution, the regional daily explains that the tragedy could be linked to an incident which had occurred a few days earlier, with insults uttered during a course at the school where the victim was schooled.

"Not at all known to be a recurring disruptor"

Summoned by the management of the college with his parents to explain it, and denying being the author, the young college boy would have had a hard time fear of possible sanctions. "It was an incident of school life quite classic especially since this boy was not known at all to be a recurring disruptive element," says a spokesman for the rectorat in La Provence.

Since the tragedy, four psychologists have been present at the Edgar-Quinet college to support the students, staff and teachers of the establishment.

A police investigation entrusted to the departmental security was opened to try to determine the exact circumstances which could push this adolescent to end his life.
