The Puerto Rican reggaeton player Bad Bunny has tested positive for covid-19, according to his publicist, who also explained that due to the disease the singer could not appear on Sunday at the American Music Awards (AMA), in which he won two awards, as the most international Latin star.

The 26-year-old musician was going to perform his hit Dákiti with Jhai Cortez live, but, according to his publicist, "unfortunately the artist tested positive for covid-19 and this forced him to cancel his performance."

The singer participated virtually and received the AMA awards –in the Latin music categories– for favorite male artist and favorite album for YHLQMDLG, short for Yo Hago Lo Que Me Da La Gana.
