Hundreds of young ballerinas met at the Plaza Hotel in New York to try to beat the world record for the greatest number of dancers on tiptoes. The previous world record in the Guinness Book dates back to September 10, 2019.
"I screamed and clapped. I was in shock. I feel proud. I came here to break the record, and we did it," said 15-year-old Emma Power. The dancers also came from China, Japan, Germany, and Portugal to participate in the event. They had to support the weight of their bodies solely on their tiptoes for a minute in the prestigious 5-star hotel. Additional difficulty was that everyone had to maintain their balance at the same time for the performance to be validated. The event was part of the Youth America Grand Prix, a competition for young girls in the U.S. and around the world.
