Philippe, 22, was beaten to death on the night of April 15 to 16 in a parking lot behind the Carrefour Contact store in Grande-Synthe (North). Two minors aged 14 and 15 are currently in police custody.
In an unbearable video filmed by a woman, Philippe lies on the ground in his underwear, unconscious. His attackers, who were at least three, stole his cell phone and his bag before fleeing. An investigation, entrusted to the judicial police, has been launched to find out what happened to the young man and why he was beaten so badly. The victim's cousin: "He was a very kind person with a good heart. He always had a smile. He wasn't a fighter at all. I'm still in shock. I'm still shocked.'' The victim's mother: 'I've never seen him cry before. He was so happy. He had such a big smile.'
