Daniele Duca, photography leaves room for thought - Lifestyle

The exhibition of photographic works in black and white by Daniele Duca is called "Da Vicino" which opens on December 13 in the Still art gallery in Milan from December 13, 2019.

"The objects of Daniele Duca - curator Denis Curti explains in a note - live an absolute synthesis, lost in an indefinite space and devoid of their literal dimension, in function of a process in which light all seems to transform on the photographic plane. His is a silent work that foresees the use of elements capable of becoming contemporary still lifes ”.

On display there will be cold and inanimate subjects that become the protagonists of a new figuration, because they are gathered within a precise trajectory that not only distances itself from the classic still-life representations, but that brings everything back to a poetic dimension. Thanks to a yellow and light blue Ferrania of her maternal grandmother, Duke discovered her passion for photography at 12 years old. Born in 1967, he has always dedicated himself to images and advertising, for over 25 years Daniele Duca has been involved in photography for one of the most important Italian pharmaceutical companies, without ever missing the appointment with his personal research, now collected in five sections: Extension , Moto Contrario, Proximity, Pasta and Spicy Lovers , already published as monographs by Alinari .

"The idea of ​​Daniele Duca - explain the organizers of the exhibition - contains a great deal of intimacy and accompanies the observer in a silent way in which the consistency, the reflections and the tonal passages of black and white are the true interpreters of a story interior able to make us forget the obsession of recognition in favor of free interpretation, from things to what makes things happen, attention to questions and not answers, these are the ingredients of a new syntax of photography devised by the artist from Ancona. Daniele Duca's story is a provocation for the epoch we are living in, in which we are used to looking at elaborate, didactic images , sometimes so visually twisted that there is no room for thought, in a technological and multimedia world, where excessive visibility brings the viewer to become estranged in a passive observation, Duca offers us a look that, thanks to the passion for black and white, tries to make us reflect, proposing the fascination of doubt and ambiguity. Daniele Duca allows our eyes to easily recognize his images, but immediately he sows uncertainty and turns it into curiosity, allowing us to return to being protagonists rather than mere spectators ".

The exhibition will be open until 2 February 2020.
