A special tribute to the legendary San Remo Festival will be held in Haifa and Tel Aviv this April. Bobby Solo, Jilgiola Chinquatti and Italian Nada will perform the huge hits identified with the festival and host Arcadi Duchin and Ilanit. The event will be conducted by David Krivoshi's musical conducting and Kobi Ben Atar's artistic direction.
The San Remo Festival, considered by many to be the initial inspiration for the Eurovision Song Contest, is a song contest that began in San Remo City in Italy in 1951. Occasionally the festival winner represents the Italian state in Eurovision, as in the case of Mahmoud in 2019, who won the competition with the huge hit "Soldi".
The competition, which continues to this day, has featured countless Italian singer stars alongside many international artists, including Britney Spears, Stevie Wonder and Madonna. Among the artists who made them there following their participation in the festival are Eros Ramzotti, Andrea Buccelli and many others. Israeli singer Ahinoam Nini participated in the competition in 2006 with Italian singer Carlo Fava.
The events will take place on April 10 at the Tel Aviv Cultural Hall and on April 11 at the Haifa Convention Center. Tickets for Tel Aviv can be purchased at Ticketmaster, and in Haifa, there are lightning funds ranging from NIS 235 to NIS 425, depending on where you are sitting.
