Not the first cheese recall for Listeria - that's why the bacteria are so dangerous

The consumer advice center warns above all certain population groups against listeria: According to this, listeria are food germs that can be life-threatening, especially for pregnant women, small children and the sick . Pregnant women in particular should never come into contact with listeria, as the bacteria can cross the placental barrier after infection of the mother. Even stillbirth can be the result, since the unborn child does not yet have any defense mechanisms.

The French cheese maker "Le Moulis" recently recalled several products from its range - also because of the suspicion of listeria.

The Bauer Freigeist dairy is also recalling a popular soft cheese product. E. coli bacteria were apparently discovered in a camembert made by the cheese maker.

The discounter Penny also strongly advises against eating a cheese product: Listeria was discovered in two types of Gorgonzola. In addition, an igloo recall is currently taking place.
