This Wednesday evening - day 9 of confinement -, the Director General of Health Jérôme Salomon announced 231 additional deaths in hospital and 2,931 new confirmed cases of contamination with coronavirus. This is a new mortality record.
A total of 25,233 people have been officially infected since the start of the Covid-19 crisis. Among them, 1331 (+231) lost their lives in a hospital establishment. More than 11,539 are also supported, including 2,827 in intensive care (+311).
Note that deaths in Ehpad, which are increasing in recent days, are not counted here. Like all the disappearances recorded outside the hospital environment. In order to refine the health assessment, a "daily monitoring of mortality" in establishments for the elderly must be implemented "in the next few days".
