Detecting the infections of Covid-19 is essential for the Governments of Latin America. To this end, various technological tools have been made available to the public to detect and prevent new cases of coronavirus in the region. Given the increase in cases, various applications allow citizens to carry out a self-diagnosis of symptoms and thus avoid saturation of health systems. These are the free tools that the various Latin American countries have made available to citizens to detect and prevent Covid-19 infections.

Mexico

So far, no initiative has been presented at the federal level, but there are resources for several States.

Mexico City. The Government of the Mexican capital invites citizens who have doubts about their health to send a text message via SMS. The robot asks a series of questions about sex, age and possible symptoms. For this, the word COVID19 is sent to 51515.

Chihuahua . According to local media information, six cases have been detected in the border state. Given this, the Government made available to users an application to detect symptoms or request medical attention if necessary.

Argentina

More than half a million people have self-examined for Covid-19 symptoms through the Coronavirus Argentina app, launched by the Government. The objective is to allow self-diagnosis by comparing this disease with other similar ones, such as influenza, and to keep the population informed about prevention measures. The Executive has announced that it will shortly be updated with a map with nearby health units.

During the mandatory quarantine you can only go to the doctor if it is an emergency or a situation that cannot be resolved by phone.

Colombia

The Executive has enabled a mobile application with information about the coronavirus. In addition to the tool, the Government launched a page where a self-diagnosis can be made to rule out symptoms and prevent care lines or hospitals from collapsing with people who do not really have Covid-19 symptoms.
