Nearly a month after the start of confinement, France has recorded at least 17,920 deaths linked to the coronavirus. This Thursday, the Directorate General of Health mourned the deaths of 417 new people in hospitals. In total, since March 1, 11,060 people have died in a hospital establishment and 6,860 in social and medico-social centers, such as nursing homes.
New drop in intensive care
For the eighth consecutive day, the number of severe cases currently in intensive care is down (-209) but remains at a very high level (6,248 patients in total).
The French authorities also count 31,305 hospitalized patients. For the second day in a row, there is therefore a drop in the number of staff currently cared for in hospitals (-474).
