(ANSA) - TURIN, MAY 02 - Italian Lions have invested 5 million euros in the fight against coronavirus, between interventions in hospitals and RSA, with purchases of protective equipment and devices, and aid for families. "Stunned by the violence of this epidemic - says Luigi Tarricone, national president - we immediately placed ourselves alongside the institutions, also through our medical partners who worked on the front lines or present in local administrations, collecting their requests. Thanks to 1,300 clubs and 40,000 members present in all Italian cities managed to generate a rapid and widespread action ". Throughout Italy, Lions have delivered over 200 respiratory hospitals, tampon analyzers, oxygen therapy devices, ultrasounds, monitors, syringes, tablets. "At first - Tarricone says - we focus on hospitals, now on supporting the population and the restarting of the economy". The most significant commitment was in Lombardy, with 30% of the money paid out.
