On the eve of the Ascension weekend and after 10 days of deconfinement, the Directorate General of Health identifies this Wednesday 110 new deaths linked to Covid-19, in the last 24 hours. A total of 28,132 deaths since the start of the epidemic in March in France, including 17,812 in hospitals and 10,320 in nursing homes and medico-social centers.
According to the assessment of the day, 1794 patients are now treated in the intensive care units in France. There are 43 new serious cases admitted in 24 hours, but the balance remains negative and this for several weeks, with 100 patients less this Wednesday, according to the DGS.
17,941patients still hospitalized
Hospitalizations linked to Covid-19 remain high: 17,941 people are currently being treated in hospital after being infected. Including 432 new admissions recorded in the last 24 hours. Since the beginning of March, French hospitals have received 99,616 patients and 63,354 of them have been able to return to their homes.
In addition, around thirty new sources of contamination have appeared in France, including slaughterhouses in the Loiret, Côtes-d'Armor and a police station in Lille, where mass screening has been carried out.
