With the reopening of the gates also in two monster places such as Pompeii and, from June 1, the Colosseum, art has officially returned to show itself to the public, with a calendar of reopenings of places and buildings, even of small museums (20% it is already active according to the APM), and with expected extensions for the exhibitions that the lockdown had closed early. From Caravaggio in Naples to Andy Wharol in Terni, passing through Giovanna Garzoni's debut in Florence, here are the events not to be missed on the weekend.

FLORENCE- Exotic flowers, plants and shells, strange insects, animals with an almost human expression. With a hundred works including paintings, miniatures on parchment, drawings and a large antependium of over four meters, Giovanna Garzoni's natural universe debuts at Palazzo Pitti with the first large monographic dedicated to the Baroque painter wing, friend of Artemisia Gentileschi. It is "The greatness of the universe in the art of Giovanna Garzoni", welcomed in the spaces of the Andito degli Angiolini from tomorrow to June 28, which tells the art and personality of an imaginative and very curious woman, as well as one of the most cultured and cosmopolitan of its time, born in the Marche, but arrived at the courts of Venice, Naples, the Medici, up to France and England, ROME - Fluid, dynamic, colorful. It is the immersive and scenographic setting that Maxxi dedicates to one of the greatest and most multifaceted Italian architects with "Gio Ponti. Loving architecture", a staff extended until mid-September.
A journey that starts already from the museum lobby, with the powerful installation of large banners, suspended in Zaha Hadid's full-height spaces, which reproduce stylized facades of skyscrapers and evoke the skyline of a never-seen "Pontian city". On June 2, Republic Day, "Real_Italy", a fresco of the most current Italian art scene, will also reopen through the works of 13 winners of the Italian Council 2017 program of the Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity of MiBACT.

ROME - If cinema and TV series "saved" us in the lockdown weeks, you can go back to discover all the secrets of the sets and great authors directly at Cinecittà. In fact, the historic studios reopen the gates to the public on Friday, with the three permanent exhibitions: "Cinecittà si Mostra", including films, stage costumes, interactive rooms and the sets of Ancient Rome, the Temple of Jerusalem and Florence of the 1400s; "Felliniana - Ferretti dreams of Fellini", which on the centenary of the birth of the director of "La dolce vita" offers a real immersion in the imagination of the Maestro revisited and created by his three-time scenographer Oscar winner Dante Ferretti with Francesca Lo Schiavo; and the "MIAC", the brand new Italian Museum of Audiovisual and Cinema.

TURIN - Tomorrow one of the symbols of Turin will also reopen: Palazzo Madama, jewel of the Savoy residences and Unesco heritage, with "Andrea Mantegna. Reliving the ancient, building the modern". The exhibition, exceptionally extended until 20 July, tells the master of the Veneto region among his masterpieces and multimedia works, but also the colleagues with whom he was in contact, such as Donatello, Antonello da Messina, Pisanello, Paolo Uccello, Giovanni Bellini.

VICENZA, MILAN and NAPLES - Doors open during the weekend for the Gallerie d'Italia, the exhibition spaces created by Intesa Sanpaolo to make its artistic and architectural heritage available, together with the collections from the Cariplo Foundation in Milan. It starts tomorrow with Palazzo Leoni Montanari in Vicenza and the rearrangement of the permanent collection with 30 paintings of the Venetian 18th century and a core of 20 vases selected from over 500 from the collection of Attic and Magna Graecia ceramics. On 2 June the Gallerie d'Italia - Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano will reopen in Naples with the exhibition "David and Caravaggio. The cruelty of nature, the scent of the ideal" and the famous Martyrdom of Sant'Orsola; and the headquarters in Piazza Scala in Milan with "Canova | Thorvaldsen. The birth of modern sculpture", the exhibition, for many weeks before the lockdown at the top of the charts of the most visited exhibitions in Italy than in partnership with the Hermitage of St. Petersburg and the Thorvaldsen of Copenhagen had compared the works of the two great neoclassical artists in a real "Marble Olympus" (both exhibitions are extended to June 28).

TERNI - Open in March for only one day, "Andy Wharol" ... in the city ", an exhibition dedicated to the genius of American Pop Art, now scheduled until August 9, returns to Palazzo Primavera. For once, forced closure has brought an advantage : to the 150 works initially exhibited, others on canvas have been added, exceptionally arrived in the meantime by American collectors and never before exhibited in Italy. An excursus both of its European roots through little-known works such as the Book of my garden or the Gold Book, both of those whimsical creations that over the years have been able to reach a reputation that touches the myth, also space for emerging and already known artists such as Pier Giuseppe Pesce, Mark Kostabi and Lucrezia Di Canio.
