Franceschini, 10 million for private theaters

(ANSA) - ROME, JULY 10 - Resources coming soon for theaters. The Minister of Culture Dario Franceschini signed today the decree that assigns 10 million euros of the cinema and entertainment emergency fund set up with the DL Cura Italia to the extent of lost ticket revenue and season tickets for private theater exercises. "These support measures for private theaters - adds the minister - add to those put in place since the first days of the health emergency to sustain the entire sector of live entertainment which is one of the sectors most affected and which will have slower recovery times ".
   In the gradual return to the resumption of activities, he adds, "it is necessary that the system of aid, social safety nets and compensation be adapted to the sectors that are experiencing the greatest criticality".
    The 10 million euros, explained by the ministry of cultural heritage and tourism, will be distributed among the beneficiaries in proportion to the lower collections in the months of March, April and May 2020, in relation to the collections obtained in the same period during 2019. The contribution is recognized up to at least 20% of the missed receipts and in any case not exceeding 25,000 euros for each room with a capacity between 300 and 600 seats and no more than 50,000 euros for each room with a capacity exceeding 600 seats. If a beneficiary received resources from the FUS in 2019, then the contribution will be equal to the difference between what has been received from the FUS and the maximum amounts foreseen based on the capacity of the rooms.
