The list of green countries that will be officially updated today (Tuesday) will be missing four countries, led by Croatia, the only one that received tourists from Israel.
Hungary, which closed its borders following another outbreak, Slovenia and Austria are also out of the list of green countries and thus, anyone who returns from these countries after September 22, will have to go into isolation for 14 days.
At the same time, two green countries are joining the list - Iceland and the Seychelles.
Seychelles was talked about a lot a few months ago, when the situation in Israel was good in terms of the rate of spread of the virus.
In the Seychelles they really wanted to receive Israeli tourists, and even prepared entire areas for them so that they could rest safely.
We are now reporting that at least two companies (Aviation and Spirit Relations) are starting to sell vacation packages to the island nation.
The vacation packages are expected to be for certain hotels and on terms to be determined in the coming days by the Seychelles government.
The packages are intended after Sukkot, a season that is considered good for visiting the country.
Will Israelis be able to enter the Seychelles?
During the last few months, Israelis have flown private flights and entered the Seychelles.
There are currently no direct flights from Israel to the Seychelles, but of course this can be done through connecting flights through a third country.
At the same time, Air Seychelles is examining the possibility of returning flights to Israel and this issue is being examined by all parties.
Currently, entry to the Seychelles is conditional on the presentation of only negative corona tests and accommodation booked for the holiday.
The local government is expected to update guidelines towards the end of the week and it is very possible that the guidelines regarding the corona test will remain, so that Israeli citizens who present will be able to enter and vacation in the Seychelles without entering isolation back in the country.
It is important to note that currently there are flights to Seychelles from green countries only, so before you book a flight ticket, carefully check the directions for flying through a third country, entering Seychelles and vacationing there.
By current definitions, there is a need to present a corona test from the last 72 hours and proof that you have a hotel that you paid for.
In the Seychelles there is no need for isolation at the entrance to the country, the restaurants are open under restrictions of social distance, public transportation is active and there is no obligation to wear masks.
