They are now 55 departments in red.
The government spent 13 new departments on Saturday in the “active circulation zone” of the coronavirus: Aveyron, Calvados, Doubs, Eure, Gers, Indre-et-Loire, Marne, Haute-Marne , Meurthe-et-Moselle, Saône-et-Loire, Tarn, Vienne and the Territoire de Belfort.
As the Ministry of Health recalls on its site, “an area of active circulation of the virus is characterized mainly by an incidence rate (number of cases for a given period, Editor's note) greater than 50 per 100,000 inhabitants and a dynamic unfavorable epidemic ”.
This rate defines the alert threshold for Covid-19 in France.
But a department can also be placed in red with an incidence rate of 30 per 100,000, if it borders a department in red, for example.
The passage in red gives the prefects free rein to take specific measures, in consultation with the regional health agencies (ARS) and local elected officials: limitation or prohibition of gatherings, partial or complete closure of establishments open to the public (ERP) non-essential, travel restrictions ... The prefecture of Indre-et-Loire announced on Saturday the ban from Monday on dancing evenings, standing drinks and cocktails.
